Welcome Back!
Welcome back to all of you!
And a very warm welcome to all our new children, parents and carers, we hope you will all enjoy your time at Crich Pre-School.
Topic
Our topic this term is 'Fairy Tales' traditional and modern.
The role play area will be based on these themes, as will some of our craft and messy play, (old clothes on children please!).
We will be baking fairy cakes and gingerbread men, which will not only be fun to make but hopefully good to eat!
Freddy the Teddy
Look out for Freddy the Teddy, he may be coming home with your child soon!
Don't forget to take some 'photo's, (camera provided) and let us know what adventures, mischief etc he gets up to!
Your photo's will go into his book, kept in the quiet room. Feel free to check out what he has been doing during the holidays.
Parents/carers and grandparent
You are all talented at something!
Would you like to spend ½ an hour sharing your talents with the children and us? Maybe you are musical, good at baking, craft or you enjoy telling a good story. Whatever your talent is, if you feel you would like to get involved with the children for an occasional short session, then let us know.
Come and have a chat with Tracie or Helen.
Show and Tell
All the children seem to enjoy the novelty of 'show and tell'. It would be great if the children could bring in a 'show and tell' which relates to the topic we are covering or corresponds with the letter of the week. It can be a book, toy, photo', whatever your child is happy to 'show and tell' to his/her peers and us!
But please, not to large that it will not fit into the 'show and tell' bag!
Important changes
Please note that our opening times have changes slightly.
Monday's opening times are now:- 9.15am – 12.15pm
and 1.15pm – 4.15pm
This is due to us offering all day care with lunch care built in.
Tue – Fri remain the same 9.15am – 12.15pm
Pre-school sessions held at Crich Infant School
The sessions we hold at the Infant School are receiving some fantastic, positive responses from parents, carers and teachers. So after discussions with Miss Kirk (Head Teacher) we will be holding more sessions up at the 'top school'.
We are going to be holding all day sessions on several Monday's.
All children who are booked in for all day care on Mondays will start at 9.15-4.15pm, please provide your child with a packed lunch as usual. Thank you.
Pre-school sessions to be held at school to date will be:-
Mon 26th Sept, Tues 18th October, Mon 31st October and Monday 28th November 2011.
Further dates for Tuesday – Fri will follow.
Quiet Room
In the quiet room we continue to keep relevant information for your perusal.
Please feel free to take a look through the folders. There is a wealth of information there about your pre-school, how the children learn, who the staff are etc...
It's a great place to meet friends and make some new ones. If there is anything you are unsure of, or if you can not find the information you are looking for, please come and talk to Helen or Tracie.
And finally ...
Would you please ensure that your child's name is on all outdoor clothing, including bags, wellies and water bottles.
It can get a little confusing when two or more children have exactly the same coats, bottles, bags or boots!
