KEY WORKERS
The preschool has a key worker system. This means that each member of staff has a group of children for whom she is particularly responsible.
The aim of the key worker system is to provide a relationship in which your child may feel secure when you are not with them. This does not mean however that your child only spends time with this person but rather to ensure a familiar point of contact for both you and the child.
Your child's key worker will be the main person who works with you to make sure that pre-school provision incorporates your child's particular needs and interests.
When your child first starts at the pre-school, the key worker will help your child to settle and will help your child to benefit from the pre-school's activities. You are invited to share details of your child's likes, dislikes and other information with your key person so they will be able to give comfort and support to your child accordingly.
Information about your child's day and any special messages may be given to you by the key person at the end of the pre-school day.
