INTRODUCTION

We would like to welcome you and your child to Crich Preschool for children from the age of two until they start their compulsory full time education.

We have been established since the 1980s and operate term time, Monday to Friday 9.15 a.m. – 12.15 p.m. We are run by an elected committee of parents and carers which ensures major decision making is in the hands of those whose children use the pre-school. Our membership of the Pre-school Learning Alliance and Derbyshire Early Years Partnership ensures we are always in touch with the latest information and training.

Our aims are to provide a safe, friendly & rewarding atmosphere for children and their individual needs. Whilst promoting equal opportunities and developing good relationships with children and families, we offer high standards of care and education through our qualified and professional Early Years team, in a calm and happy atmosphere.

We offer a wide variety of practical, play-based, first hand experiences that stimulate and promote children's development in all areas of learning. Crich Preschool maintains a high ratio of adults to children and so is able to ensure continuous support and guidance for children. We operate a key worker system which gives each member of staff specific responsibilities for a number of children and their individual needs. The key worker maintains links with the child's home setting, working with parents, to ensure that all children are supported in reaching their full potential.

We have regular OFSTED inspections for education and health and safety. This enables US to offer free places for 3 and 4 year old children, funded by our local education authority. A copy of our latest Ofsted inspection report can be found in the Parent Information folder which is located on our entrance table.
