Teaching and Learning Manager
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Early Years practitioner to join our committee run village pre-school from September 2019 as Teaching and Learning Manager.
The right candidate will have a passion to lead, excellent knowledge of the EYFS and a commitment to seeing Crich Pre-School grow and thrive. You will be committed to inspiring our children to explore their world and fire their excitement for learning. We are looking for an enthusiastic, engaging and confident in leading experienced staff as well as supporting new practitioners to deveelop their skills. You must be able to demonstrate strong organisational skills and previous management experience is desirable, but not essential.
Supervision of the setting will be shared with the business manager. It is expected the role will entail working three days per week, Wednesday-Friday. Working alongside the Business Manager, you will manage the day-to-day running of the pre-school leading on co-ordinating the provision of a caring, safe, secure and stimulating environment. You will also manage a staff team and work in partnership with the board of trustees to ensure high standards are maintained at all times. You will be the designated safeguarding lead for the setting promoting the welfare of children, staff and parents/carers. You will also be our SENco and up to date training would be helpful, but can be provided if needed.
Salary and working hours:
25 hours per week term time only, with an actual starting salary £11,500. This includes 5 hours management time per week which also covers training and out of hours meetings. We are committed to safeguarding children. All offers of employment will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.

Crich Pre-School is a charity and as such is run by a voluntary committee. The committee is responsible for the management of the pre-school and fundraising for the pre-school. It is not responsible for day to day operations, that responsibility lies with the managers, Lisa (Business Manager) and Kay (Teaching & Learning Manager). 60% of Crich Pre-School management committee must be parents/carers of Pre-School children and in July several of the parents on the committee will be leaving us as their children move onto pastures new.
We need you! Being a member of the pre-school committee is an enjoyable and worthwhile experience giving you as a parent/carer a greater involvement in the important early stages of your child’s education.
